“Ryoko was recommended to me by a fellow pianist after I experienced shoulder problems. I was new to Alexander Technique, and whilst initially it focuses on awareness of posture, it soon began having noticeable effects. Ryoko’s sessions are relaxed and informal, but also much focused; she is warm and friendly and takes an evident interest in her work and in continuing to investigate ways of communicating the principles of this fascinating practice. My shoulder problems are rare now, and when they come up I know how to relax and deal with them. I would recommend her lessons to people of all ages, it’s a revelation!”

I discovered the wonders of the Alexander Technique at a Civil Service Wellbeing event, and I decided to enrol on a beginner’s course to learn more. At the Westminster Alexander Technique School I was taught by senior student Ryoko Izutsu who guided me through the basics. I decided to remain under Ryoko’s tutorship after she graduated from the Westminster Alexander Technique School. What impresses me most about Ryoko is her firm understanding and love of the Technique, which she has incorporated into all aspects of her lifestyle particularly her music – an excellent practitioner.
